Consistently great casual Italian good and great and friendly service. A bit noisy at peak times but has a great vibe, and can see sports on the 2 TVs. Great salads, great dishes, very reasonable prices, good menu selections. The pizza isn't great - overly dry and tasteless crust. Dessert is a bit small for the price. Wine is very reasonable. Plus point: No tax in tip calculation. One big minus - a mixed up take-out order (miscommunication from the order taker and despite confirming with her) meant driving all the way back to get the right one, the other dinner got cold before getting back with the right one, plus we paid for both the wrong order and the fixed one. We're regulars but this has put us off returning anytime soon, we should not have been charged for this mistake.

We were craving some local, decadent Italian for our weekend in Frisco and I believe we achieved that in Gallo Nero. The reviews are correct, this is a local and neighborhood favorite, as evidenced by the steady stream of folks in and out of the restaurant all night. That said we only had a minimal wait time and the server was quick to ply us with some drinks in this very social and loud atmosphere. Looking at the menu, it was exactly what we were looking for - just the menu you would expect at the local Italian place in your town, with the items cooked to dang near perfection. For me, I opted for the Lobster Ravioli, which was smothered in a decadent and delicious vodka sauce, and The Wife loved her Chicken Piccata. Throw in some fresh-baked bread and we had a great dinner outing at Gallo Nero. So whether you just want to stop in for a drink at the lively bar or have some of your hometown Italian favorites, you can't go wrong at Gallo Nero.

Just yesterday night I went to celebrate my early birthday with gallo Nero! We had the sweetest Serbian waitress who was very funny and helpful(I wish i remembered her name). My parents and brother joined me last night and we all got great dishes , some which I cannot pronounce . The place is clean, food comes out hot, drinks are great. Overall an easy Italian place , pretty casual not too fancy!

Food: 4/5 Service: 3.75/5 Ambiance: 3.75/5 Good food overall with just the right portion sizes. For a Wednesday night around 8pm, it was a full house and very loud. Upon getting seated, we waited a noticeable amount of time before trying to flag down a server. We quickly found out no one was assigned to our table, which was disappointing. However, our identified server was friendly and provided quick service. The bruschetta, frutti de mare, and margherita pizza with pepperoni were good. I would consider exploring other dishes the next time I may visit.
